Edit Line Avatar lines?

Hi Tim, You are able to edit the lines made with the Line (avatar) tool by using the Edit Line (Avatar) tool, nested in the same menu. If [Left Click] + [CTRL] (at the same time) isn't creating a curve point for you in the correct tools then it might be your presets -- make sure you check your settings>preferences for what control+left mouse is doing for you (check your presets in Settings>View controls - we usually recommend the regular mouse preset. if you change it you change a lot of the hot keys).

Hi. Yeah, I've managed to get left click and Ctrl working to add a curve. I'm just disappointed you can move the line itself like you can when editing the 2D patterns. I mean, you can select the line, but dragging the mouse, or pressing any other button combination, just doesn't move it. Only the points can be moved.

That is because the line is not set as an internal line yet, think of it like you drew on a shirt with a piece of chalk instead of onto the pattern, there is one more step. You have to right click the line and select the your preferred option to convert it into an internal line that you can then interact with. you can follow our youtube tutorials here for a better understanding of the tools and how to get started using Marvelous Designer https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYQUdblF9eDX9q7CHUGmW2-rNOm9Auj1p

I'm not getting that option when I right click on a line. Just to clarify, I'm using Line (Avatar) and Edit Line (Avatar). Once a section has been done and the lines turn yellow, I'm only able to edit/move the points, but not the lines themselves.

OH I see now! To answer your second question, you cannot make an internal lines without having a pattern you are working on, and that tool makes patterns only.

That tool is ONLY for making lines on an avatar / obj / fbx to then flatten into patterns that you then add internal lines to and manipulate. the lines have to cross complex topology so that is why you can only edit points. Those lines it makes will always be segment lines of patterns, never internal lines as it is a tool only for making pattern pieces.  If you had a GARMENT on the avatar using the garment line tool, then my instructions work and it makes internal lines inside the pattern you are drawing on.

If you want to use this tool for making garments here is a tutorial covering how to work with it, Follow along and you can make a shirt for your avatar https://youtu.be/woW5zPApUMw

I cannot recommend enough following along with our tutorials to get you started in understanding the software and how the tools work best for garment creation workflows.
